RILEY has 'Para'-sensitive since she was 10. She can see Ghosts/Spirits and feel their emotions. She's totally creeped out by it and avoided all things Paranormal. But Destiny, has other plans for her! I learnt in this book that there are specific terms for them!!!!!

Clairvoyant - Clairvoyance means 'Clear Seeing'. It's is a term I have come across many a times. In movies, books, True Crime documentaries. However DID YOU KNOW... in Addition to this, there are more forms of 'Seeing'. I came across these in the book.
Claircognizant - Claircognizance means 'Clear Knowing'
Clairsentience - mean 'Clear Feeling'
Clairaudient - Clairaudience mean 'Clear Hearing'.
My curiosity led me to this Pin defining more forms of 'Clairs'. FASCINATING!!!!!
So enough digressing and back to the book!
Riley is just about coming to terms with the events and experience of the (in)famous JordanVille Ranch and her encounter with the spirit of the Serial Killer, Orin Jacobs when a Small boy's spirit (9 yr old Pete Vonik) reaches out to her.
Now with her 'sense' reactivated in a sense (though I'd say re-acknowledged), Riley is seeig and feeling Spirits around her. She is terrified, curious, but hesitant to step into the unknown field and embrace her 'talents'. She fears for the 'unknown' and the aftereffects on her sanity. Orin Jacobs has left her shaken. More than that, it's the living, the Evil that may be hiding in plain sight that scares her more. She does feel helping the suppressed voices of the dead, brings peace to the them and to the loved ones left behind. But it also brings out the perpetrators, killers, and pure EVIL lurking in anonymity. Embracing one is accepting the other!!!
SHUTTERED SECRETS - brings a silent spirit into Riley's Universe when She and her best friend Jade and she pick a trio of vintage cameras. The woman in the yellow dress! Riley feels a compulsion to help her, though she also feels trepidation for what that would entail. With Nina (A fellow 'Clair') encouraging her and support from her (totally adorable) boyfriend Michael and (Paranormal fan) Bestie Jade - She takes on not one, but two endeavors.
Nina, Riley and Olivia (a 'Clair' acquaintance of Nina's) - Set out to solve a haunting in a home with young children. The frazzled mum's appeal and the visual of the resident Ghost, gets Riley invested enough to give 'ghost- hunting' (for the lack of a better word), a try. The Trio then gets deeper into it, when they start investigating as a team, the case of the 'Woman in the Yellow Dress'
Reasons to read the book!

* A True Crime buff would love the investigative aspect of this mystery.
